VOLUNTEER TORONTO WORKSHOP - Workshop recommended for: Executive Directors and Current Board Members of Nonprofit agencies

Clarity and Direction around Board Member roles and responsibilities are key to an effective Board. This workshop will focus on the core functions of governance by providing:

  • Examples of how Boards carry out these functions
  • The behaviours of effective Boards & common governance problems
  • A Participant’s workbook for later reference

The workshop is 2.5 hours – split between presentation and discussion to identify next steps to a more effective Board.

Presenter: Chris Govern, Board member and Co Executive Director of Management Advisory Service. 

Chris is a retired Vice President of a major financial institution with many years of experience in strategy analysis & development, planning, business case development, market analysis and change management. Chris has spent the last 10 years working as a volunteer consultant in the nonprofit sector with a broad range of organizations, primarily focused on strategic planning, governance, outcome measurement and general management issues.
